Non-Destructive Eggshell Thickness Measurement
Eggshell thickness is a critical indicator of egg structural strength, hatchability and overall quality in poultry farming and food production. Traditional testing methods require breaking eggs to take measurements, resulting in sample waste and low efficiency for batch inspection.
In this test, we used the PM5 Gen3 high-precision ultrasonic thickness gauge to perform non-destructive eggshell thickness measurement, verifying its reliable performance for ultra-thin biological sample testing.
How It Works
We select the MEV mode (Multiple-Echo Verification) of PM5 Gen3, and using our innovative water immersion method: it emits high-frequency sound waves through the eggshell, and calculates exact thickness based on the echos return time. This testing method is 100% non-destructive and most efficient, tested eggs remain fully intact and can still be used for hatching, sale or further processing.
Readings are highly repeatable with minimal deviation, suitable for batch quality grading.
Single-point measurement takes less than 1 second, drastically improving inspection efficiency compared to destructive sampling methods.
